Hello all,

I have Windows 7 on my machine. I wanted to dual boot my system with Linux. So I installed Ubuntu 8.10
Wubi on Windows 7. But the Ubuntu boot option does not appear in the boot menu screen. So I tried different methods like Run as Administrator, but it did not work. Then I installed Visual BCD to add Ubuntu
entry to Windows 7, but I don't have the knowledge how to add the option using Visual BCD. I searched on
internet but could not find any easy help.

P.S. I only want to use Ubuntu 8.10, though it is outdated, not any newer version of Ubuntu.

Thanks for any help.

You should try using EasyBCD. I did this on an old Tablet PC that I used with Ubuntu 8.04 -- because I didn't want to mess with the boot loader files or folder to install GRUB.

You can download and install EasyBCD from NeoSmart Technologies. On their site, they have FAQs explaining how to do what you want.
