how to burn a completed project

I've created a Windows live Movie Maker a slide show with music, transitions, etc and am ready to burn it to a DVD to play on a TV. I cannot find the option to do it (my last Windows platform was XP which had a burn section). How do I accomplish this in Windows or is there another program I should be using? Thanks!

I haven't got WMM 11 installed but has it not got the Save to Computer option?

..or 'save to dvd'?

have you already got a video_ts folder on your hard-drive?

if so, use any burning tool to stick it (the whole folder) onto a blank dvd...

I was just about to download and install WMM 11 but didn't really want to. I presume the procedure will be the same for this version as earlier versions?

i don't know mitch, i've never used either version.

i just know a dvd needs a video_ts folder with the bup's, ifo's and vob's in it...

Agreed but when you create the VIDEO_TS folder you should also see a folder named AUDIO_TS. It is important to burn that as well to your DVD. Although this folder will be empty many DVD players need to "see" that folder to recognise the DVD.
I think WMM 11 is the one without a timeline, everything has to be done in storyboard view. I can't get along with that. To me a video editor without a timeline is like a cycle with no chain!

What version of Windows 7 have you? Have just noticed this note on a Microsoft site
"DVD burning in Movie Maker is dependent on Windows DVD Maker, which is only available in Windows 7 Home Premium, Windows 7 Professional, Windows 7 Enterprise, Windows 7 Ultimate, Windows Vista Home Premium, and Windows Vista Ultimate editions. "

In case your Version doesn't allow for DVD burning, you need an app to create a working DVD structure, like mickey mentioned. A very Basic, fairly straight forward and free program you can find here

I have Windows 7 Home Premium. About an hour ago I found out how to burn it...... Goto "save movie", select "burn to DVD" select what you want to burn it as (it has a 1080P option that rocks), hit next, then it will tell you where it will save it (mine does to my video's folder), hit save, then the windows DVD takes over. You have some selection choices (reminds me of iDVD on an Apple) and from there burn it! Works great. Sorry for all the trouble. I've been fooling around with this for a couple of days. Could not find and definitive answer to the question until I stumbled across it. Good Luck!
