How to change background color of Win7 folders

Any one help me with this one.

I want to replace the bright white folder background with a more subtle color that wont strin my eyes after sitting in front of the monitir for a few eye.

Have always been able to do it in the past but not with windows 7 for some reason.

Any help is appreciated.

Ken, I know exactly what you mean, and sorry, I have not yet totally found the answer, however you can change background colour of windows using Personalise/Window color & appearance/Advanced appearance settings. Click in window text area and choose your colour (I'm trying a very pale cream)
For the folder background (aaagh white!) I have spent a little time tweaking my grahics card gamma/contrast/brilliance to achieve the best "viewability" without searing eyeballs! All the best, Chris
P.S. I'll watch with interest cos I think this tweak should be available, as you suggest!

Thanks for this - so I take it that this app is also compatible with Win 7, 64 bit?
Not free, but looks good. Maybe Microsoft will come to the party soon and provide further features free??? We wait in eternal hope!

Whatever you do, don't waste time with FolderMarker Pro V3.x. It absolutely does not work with Windows 7 32-bit, despite what the company says. The program was great with Vista and XP.
