how to change names?

Ok, I know how to change the names by going to the control panel and editing the settings in the 'System' folder. I've done that already. My 'Computer Name', 'Full Computer Name', and 'Computer Description' have been changed to what I want. But now when I open the C:\Users folder in the administrator account, the main user's name is the name of the shop I bought my laptop from. This is the name I would like to change. The folder has a padlock on it and I've unselected the read-only function twice, but it didn't work. It asked me for confirmation, then permission, then it spent 15 seconds 'applying the attributes to the files. However, once it was finished, I hit OK and re-opened the properties window for the same folder and the 'Read-Only' function was selected again. Why can't I turn off the read-only function and how can I change this name?

If I am right the store put their name on the hidden administrator account. But I am not really sure, by reading your question

Hello Caleman, and welcome to Seven Forums.

Unfortunately if what Rich posted is not what you meant, then the only way to change the C:\Users\(user-name) folder's name is to create a new account and delete the old one after copying what you want from the old user account's user folders into the corresponding new account's user folders.

A folder cannot be set as read-only or not. Instead it is applied to the files inside that folder. A blue or blank check box indicates that a file is not read-nly. Only if it has a check mark is it read-only.
