Solved how to change recovery windows key?

Hello this is my first post here and I'm currently wondering - is it possible to change the recovery partitions key ? The problem is that I by accident mistyped the key when I received the laptop from repair a few weeks ago and now its stuck in the recovery memory

The model is a g74sx bbk7 from asus

also just to put this out of the way it is a OEM key which is under my laptop

Don't know what this means. Exactly what state is the OS in?

Can you right click on Computer and select Properties? If yes, click on Change product key at the bottom System window and re-enter the key.

The os is in a fine state currently and also currently updating although ill change it once it finishes updating but what i mean about it being in the recovery's memory is the key that's saved in there like what i had to do when i got my laptop back is re-enter the key at first boot so i'm stuck with the wrong key every time i Restore it from the recovery partition and have to re-enter unlike my old windows 7 system which auto activated before i sent it in for repairs

in case my spelling is a little rough see \/

quick question - does the OEM key have a limit of amount of activations? i ask this question because my windows 8 key did (it was an upgrade key)

Are you refering to a Windows 7 COA key?

What is the Windows Certificate of Authenticity?

I have no idea what a recovery's memory is.

Is you system requesting a password?

The only place a WIn7 COA sticker Product Key is used is to activate a Clean Reinstall Windows 7. If that's what you were intending to do then I would start over and do it correctly because it's easy to imagine what all else was scrambled.

Factory Recovery to set it back to Factory Condition is something completely different and does not require any key.

Whoops looks like i said something without knowing much about the certain thing like recovery's memory(doesn't exist i suppose) - i don't think that exists due to the way you guys are posting.. anyway :v i finally activated my windows took awhile due to updates but it's good to go and ill go ahead and mark it has solved since my spelling isn't working right due to stuff and what not anyways happy holidays. :lock:

I did a Factory Recovery and thank you for helping me with this problem I'll take a look into that factory oem clean install since that seems like a problem solver
