how to change the start orb

no no no actually i dont want to install any external software 4 dis.
plz help telling how 2 do it mannually.
i can manually write my name in place of start in d start button of win xp.
but tell how 2 change the orb manually.
i have also already downloaded many orbs 4 dis puspose.

Either way you do it you're going to need a third party software.

you will have to install a resource editor even if you want to do it manually.
With the start orb changer, you don't actually have to install it. just copy it and run it.
