How to clean install windows 7

Now I want to clean install windows 7 and make a partition. Now no partition and everything including the OS is on one drive, I need a partition to backup other things

How to do it? thanks

no problem to reinstall, i have the time to spend
i want to clean install everything
but i want to make a partition for the hard drive

You could do a clean install as usual first.

After installation is complete, you could shrink the C: drive (Windows) by how much you want for the new partition to have it show as unallocated space. Then you would create a new partition from the unallocated space.
