I currently am an IT engineer and am setting up a start menu for TS users and general users and another for Administrators.
I've setup the group policy and folder redirection to the specified folder and it all works.
BUT the programs are not installed in all the machines so the links are inactive and do not work, I'd like to know if the links for the programs that are not installed can be removed for the session to stop people clicking and it looking ugly.
some of the computers run windows 8.1 x64 and I've setup a custom start menu to be applied for the group that the user is in.
Now, all that is fine and jolly but any application that is not installed on a workstation does not remove the link and in windows 8 will keep the tile. this isn't useful as it looks horrible.
Can anybody point me in the right direction of something that will remove the tiles from sight if the program they point to is not valid AKA chrome installed and firefox not.
