I don't have a molex adapter and don't recall I had to use anything but a mobo. It's been a while. My Radeon HD7770 died and I have a spare Geforce 9600GT with Arctic L2 Plus cooler. I only have 3 and 4 pin cable connectors. Tried slide 3pin in 4pin SYS_FAN1 socket. Once powered on, the fan won't start. I'm sure both gpu and fan worked when I upgraded my gpu. And I only had to connect it to my Gigabyte MA770-UD3.

Comet Bird. Joking, I'm just sentimental about that one...
Bump. I bought pin/molex adapter but it has only 2 pins. My cooler has 3 and 4 pins. And looks like all molex pin adapters have only 2 sockets in the connector. I heard if I connect both 5 and 12v fan connectors I'll damage the cooler. True?
