How to copy motherboard drivers from DVD to installable executable?

I've just finished installing a new W7 Ultimate to a new partition. Now I need to install the motherboard drivers from a DVD.
Only prob is I've allocated my DVD connections to another HDD.
What I'd like to do is create an executable package of these drivers that can be transferred to the new install in a folder that I can open and click just one exe that will sequentially install the whole lot, one by one.
Sure I'll have to temporarily reconnect the DVD drive but that's easily done.
Is this feasible?

If you have current win7 installation on the machine, there is an easy way that doesnt need the dvd.

use dism++ to export the third party drivers from the current installation into a folder.

Then select the new installation in the top pane of dism++ ( to highlight it in blue)

Click open session

click Drivers in the left pane

click ADD

a browse window will open asking for the FOLDER containing the drivers which dism++ will recurse through and integrate into the new installation.

Quick and easy

SIW2 thanks, but where is the folder that contains my drivers? Aren't they scattered about in various locations? And aren't there several different types of files, like .inf, .sys, .dll? I have 34,000 .dlls, 5000 .infs, 2800 .sys. Are you saying that Dism++ somehow knows which of these are relevant?

yes.

It is easy

make sure the current os is highlighted blue in the top pane

click Drivers in the left pane

it automatically lists the installed 3rd party drivers

Tick them

click EXPORT and browse to a folder you have already made .

the drivers .sys .inf .cat and anything else relevant will be exported into that folder

Then click the new os in the top pane to highlight it in blue

click "open session"




click Drivers in the left pane

click ADD

browse to the folder containing the drivers you just exported.

Success, that worked well. (Once I got the instructions into my thick skull).
I have a couple more queries if you would be so kind. Here's a pic:


Should I tick all the boxes? I did, although there was one marked 'Unknown'.
What is the tickable 'Display in-box' for?
Should the process be done immediately after installation, ie, before the new install has been run for the first time?
After I finished I wondered if I should have created the new folder in the new installation, then I figured it was just making more clutter there. What do you think?

doesnt matter where the drivers folder is

can add drivers to the image before booting into or after

inbox drivers are already inlcuded in the installation media \system32\driverstore\filerepository. Therefore they are already in your newly applied image.

Third party drivers are anything Oem*.inf in the windows\inf folder
