Solved how to COPY my bookmarks to an USB stick

Hello there,

I have a simple question. Want to copy my bookmarks to an USB stick.

I asked this question on the internet and all the answeres come up with EXPORTING them and not COPING them.
For me export means move so that there not stay where they are.
I don't want to move them I just want to put a copy of the hole lot safe.

Mine are in Google chrome and they are getting more and more numereous and are very important for me.

Export bookmarks from Chrome

1. Open Chrome.
2. At the top right, click More
   
   .
3. Select Bookmarks
   
   Bookmark Manager.
4. In the manager, click the "Organize" menu.
5. Select Export bookmarks.

Chrome will export your bookmarks as an HTML file, which you can then import into another browser.

The device to export it too just go to Computer and find the drive letter it's listed as
usb flash drives are usually listed by name of the manufacture but will also have a drive letter assigned too.
Connect it and click Start and Computer.
It should show up eventually as soon as the driver for it is installed.

You are mistaken about "exporting".

As used, it means copying---leaving the originals in place. Not a "move".

I don't use Chrome, so can't tell you how to do it in Chrome. But the standard "export" method should be fine.

You could also investigate doing an entirely manual copy using the mouse---quite possibly to include the entire Chrome folder--wherever that might be. I use Firefox and once a month or so I will copy the entire Firefox folder to another drive. That makes it easy to restore my entire Firefox configuration whenever I have to reinstall Windows.

Yes, I read those instructions.

They say EXPORT. I want the bookmarks to stay where they are. Export means IMHO move ( like from one country to an other)

I want to copy ( or if you want, double them)

Do you understand what I mean ?

Hi,
As been said export copies all existing bookmarks it does not move the existing ones except for the copies
Then just point the export to the device you want them on.
I'd also point a .html file to your documents somewhere too just to be safe
