How to create custom clock wallpaper or gadget using own number pics?

For some time I've got an idea to create wallpaper or gadget with nixie clock image. Got pictures of 0-9 numbers.

How to create frame that will show pictures from this set according to current time and switch them once per second?

Is it any apps that can do this actions?

Hello lorrey,

You could start by looking for the slideshow gadget or even the slideshow clock gadget.
If you were a talented programmer, then you could start making animation with pixel graphics by using the Java AWT or swing graphics libraries, and create your own App, for this purpose.

I think creating a rainmeter skin will be a lot easier.

Well, how do you justify that?

(A moon phase clock would be easier; a 28 day calendar could be made up out of only 6 photos.)
