Hi all. My PC is about 4 1/2 years old and in heavy daily use. I would like to get rid of some of the problems before I try installing Windows 10. First problem: File explorer shows an extra disk drive "Removable disk (E:" What caused this to appear, and how do I get rid of this? BTW, I removed the closing parenthesis because it makes the entry look like a smiley to the forum software.

Ok

Do you have an SD Card reader installed on your computer? If so, this is likely the cause...

If you could post a snippet/screenshot, that would go a long way.

In addition, post a snippet/screenshot of your Device Manager...

Oh yeah. I assume your talking about a CAC card reader. I had one a few years ago, but got rid of it when I retired. :D Not sure what you mean by device manager.

According to some searching your model should have SD card reader.

OK -- SD Reader was not registering in my brain because I have never taken one out of my camera. On the front of my PC, there are slots labeled "mini/MMC SD/RS", "MS/Pro Duo", "SM xD", "CF MD" and a standard USB slot. Are you saying that is probably what the drive is?

OK -- I tried post number 3 -- I was able to hide and unhide the drive. I want it unhidden. I took the SD card out of my camera and inserted it in the slot to verify it is the SD card reader. The PC does not read the SD card. But you answered my main question -- I'm going OT now. If I decide to follow up on this issue, I will start a new thread (under hardware this time). BTW, I usually use the cable that came with the camera to download images. I have another issue -- will start a new thread tomorrow or Friday. Thanks.
