How to delete User Account on used computer without password

I purchased this used Dell Optiplex 790 from a local computer tech who was buying them and refurbishing/upgrading them per customer wishes. He's sold his business and is gone. I just recently discovered it came with a password protected user account:

Standard user
Password protected
------------------


I am the sole Administrator, and I'm not crazy about leaving this account on my machine. Is there a way I can delete it?

Welcome to the Forum.

Windows password is very easy to clean but the forum rules forbids to help unless you can prove you're the owner. Can you post the purchase ticket?

You can google and you will find many ways to clean the password.

The best and faster you can do is to launch a Factory Restore.
It can be done under windows or under BIOS. It will format the C: partition and load a new image stored on the Recovery Partition.
It will end as it was released from Dell. Unfortunately all trash that came with it will be there. And it will need all updates.
Use Dism++10.1.1000.80.zip to update it. Dism++ will do it better than WU and you can skip the spy features.

Just delete it from control panel, using another (administrator) account. There is no more need than this to manage user accounts.

That doesn't seems what the OP said. He says that he doesn't have the password of ASP.NET user, and the screenshot shows only other account, which is an admin. If OP hasn't that password, how the screenshot was taken? The guest is shown as disabled. That leaves us with only that admin account as the sole chance of taking such a screenshot.

It makes sense.

To delete the BEMW account or even the ASP.net you must create a new account with admin rights.
As BEMW, open Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\User Accounts\Manage Accounts and create a new account with admin rights.
Logoff and then log in as the new account. Go to Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\User Accounts\Manage Accounts and delete BEMW account.

it was most likely installed as part of NetFramework >> 1.1 <<
annoying but operates with Guest account permissons.
