Hi, I've just installed a W7, and it has stored my old XP folders & settings under a new folder called Windows.old, directly under another folder called Windows. By instaling W7 I was hoping to reformat the HD and erace all previous files from when XP was instaled.

Is there a way to completely delete the XP Windows record now stored as Windows.old? Thanks.

Welcome to Seven Forums.

The Windows.old files is your XP settings and some files. Look at it, if there's anything you want to keep you can copy them.

Then delete the folder. It will tell you it's to large for the recycle bin and will be permanently deleted, click OK.
