How to direct "line in" to both channels?

I luv playing guitar with playback, but now after upgrade to win7 I don't know how to direct the line in feed into both left and right channels... Result is while pc playback song is playing into both channels in my headset, I can only hear the realtime play (line in jack) at my left ear. Need to route the sound (which is mono, of course) into both and after google still dunno how. Ty for tips.

Hi Vorak666,
Simple reason for that is that you're recording to stereo track. Your monitoring is probably mono (it often is) and you can hear it from both channels. The solution is that you use a mono track.
If that is not possible, you have to get stereo sound out from your guitar. a small mixer will make that trick.

Ty for hints... But the problem isn't for recording anything. Realtime playback comes back trough only one channel. It isn't stereo, I know but I'd need to route the sound so that what ever is input either in line-in or microphone jacks (even if mono basic large plug with an adapter) is listenable realtime (without audio recording software of anykind being open) in left and right channels... Dunno if this seems a tall order but in XP it was given, straight up, no tricks... Oh, and I'm using the very same external (cables, pod, jacks) as before in XP....
Again either is fine, mic or line in... just gimme one
