How to Disable Internet Explorer

Here is a step-by-step process for you to disable IE:



1. Open up Control Panel and switch view to Large Icons
2. Go to the Programs and Features
3. On the left Pane go to the turn Windows Features on or off
4. Provide Confirmation if non-administrator
5. Usually Internet Explorer is 3rd in this list of Features installed by Windows, its checked, so uncheck it.
6. Read the warning that says "Turning off Internet Explorer X might affect other Windows Features and programs installed on your computer including default settings. Are you sure you want to continue? (Note: X is for the version of Internet Explorer installed which would usually be versions 8-11)
7. Click yes, then OK and then wait while Windows makes changes to features as it may take several minutes to complete
8. Restart your computer


That's it, after you restart your computer, Internet Explorer will be disabled

Good info on how to disable IE. But according to Microsoft, Internet Explorer is a component of the Windows operating system and the most current version will continue to follow the specific support lifecycle policy for the operating system for which it is installed. Is the September 30, 2015 date for a version prior to IE11?
