Since it does not work because ask to format the drive when a USB 3.0 peripheral is plugged in I would like to disable the 3.0 functionality and use it as USB 2.0. Is it possible?

P.S.: It has no problem with USB 2.0 peripherals.

I had a similar problem with my USB 3.0 front panel ports. Turned out to be a problem on the motherboard. The motherboard was replaced, under warranty, and no more problems.

However, if you want to use it as USB 2.0, you will need an adapter for the USB 3.0 cable that attaches to the motherboard USB 3.0 port. You will need an adapter so you can plug that into a USB 2.0 port on the motherboard (assuming you have one).

This is the adapter needed:

Hoped it was a thing with less hassle. Would have liked to have a 'software switch' (like disable USB 3.0 functionality on front panel). :D

Thanks anyway.

Has to be switched, as it is a Hardware port. Can't be changed by software/drivers.
