Hi,

I recently upgraded my harddrive as I needed the space and backed the old one up with macrium reflect then just copied everything to the new hard drive.

i was thinking, I might uninstall most of the programs on my old drive and tweak it for use with pro tools 10 so that it runs better.

My question is, if I do that, how do I install it into my comp so that both drives are bootable and I can select drive 1 for general use and drive 2 for pro tools? (Obviously avoiding any conflicts because they are more or less the same cloned drive?)

There is no tweaking suite that will improve Win7 performance if you have a perfect Clean Reinstall on adequate hardware. In fact most will ruin the OS beyond repair. It is already a perfectly optimized OS with nothing that can be tweaked at all beyond some visual effects if you have low hardware resources: edit out animation, fading, sliding, dragging intact and selection rectangle without noticeable effect using Optimize Windows 7 - Windows 7 Forums.

You'll need a second license to run a second copy of Win7. Image it to another HD or partition, then from the extant Win7 add it to a Dual Boot using EasyBCD (click Download - no Name or Email required).
