I have a Western Digital 1tb drive that has been sitting here basically dead for years now. The drive works perfectly fine when plugged into an XP machine, but not on my Win7 x64 machine. I am aware this is a known Win7 issue. But, when we had a bad storm, and a power-failure because of it, when I booted my computer back up, after restarting from safe mode, it suddenly recognized the drive. Great! Next time I rebooted, gone! Fast forward a while later, another storm, another power failure, another magical reappearance of the drive! This time I happened to notice in the sys tray windows said it was loading the driver. Interesting (may had said that the first time too, and I just didn't see it). Regular reboot later, drive again gone. . .
so, my question is, how do I manually load a driver?
