Occasionally I came to a situation where are more than 1 IntExplorer 8 windows are open (with multiple tabs each).

How can I prevent such a situation?

Whenever an IntExp is called it should use the currently running IE process and NOT create a second window.

Hi pstein, welcome to the forums :)

If you open up IE8 then click Tools -> Internet Options, click the 'Settings' button in the Tabs section and you can change how IE treats tabs..

As you can see from the highlights in the image, I have it set to 'Let IE choose...' and 'Open tabs in current window'.

See if that helps you :)

I have exactly the same happen. I think it's down to the link on the MSN page as opposed to the behaviour of IE. If you right-click the link you can select 'Open page in new tab'.

Update:
I've just tried it on IE9 and it actually did open up in a new tab, not a new page. Seems to suggest a possible error with IE8...
