It's not the amount of memory that is the problem; it's the 3D processing power of your onboard video chip in the G41 chipset. So you would need to do two things: get a decent video card and get a better PSU. The PSU you have now is a very low-quality unit and it probably wouldn't be a good idea to power a nice video card with it because it could result in lots of system instability.

However, you might also want to upgrade your CPU and memory so that it's not bottlenecking the video card (meaning, the video card's performance is held back).

I know that this all sounds very expensive, but you do have a pretty old system.

You have a total of 64 MB dedicated memory, and 750 shared off the system RAM, that's a bit different. As TwoCables said, the 3D power of the GPU is more important.

Mine gives me over 1 GB of RAM with the combined chip plus shared, but I'm still only able to run TES Oblivion at medium settings.

OP, you have reached that time to buy a new PC as the standard recommendation if trying to be an up to speed gamer in 2013 and a few years beyond.

It's a good time though, you can get a pretty bitchin' rig for under a grand total if you DIY.

Motherboard, CPU+3rd party heatsink/fan combo, video card, RAM, PSU, Case, SSD, 2TB HD, mouse, kb, and DVD drive.

Sample of what that might look like:

AMD FX-8320, Sapphire Radeon HD 7870 GHz Edition, Azza CSAZ-203 (Black) - System Build - PCPartPicker

:D

Having said that.... I know you are in India and quite possibly not able to get that stuff, but like others have said, you are in bottleneck HELL and the way out is really a new system, you can go lower than the one I spec'd out but that is a good rig build for pushing it to fit under $1000 USD.

What's with all the 3gigs of RAM on India based user PC's? None of ya'll with that have dual channel architecture being taken advantage of.

Just to share that Intel G41 can't handle GTA SA (2005) game even with everything on low and 800x600 and would only run with great fps @ 640x480 which is disappointing. get an HD 6670 atleast :)

Yeah lower tier chipsets are bottlenecks, usually sold though with all low tier fare surrounding it, so not as easily noticed, sneaky aren't they? :roflmao:
