How to install .Net in my laptop and which version ?

I wanna install .Net as i am a software professional but new to the technology. I dont have Visual studio installed . So i think i have to install Visual Studio first . But i am unaware of which version i have to chose and the steps to be followed. And if there is any prior setup needed .
I have LG laptop.. with Windows 7 ultimate 32 bit OS. Intel(R) core(TM)2 Duo CPU T5550 @1.83GHz and 1GB RAM.. Could you please help me with a solution.

Hi there .. Welcome to Seven Forums .. There are several different Versions . You should be able to run most of them though you are a bit low on Ram ... Below is a Link which explains them all in detail ...

Hi, Thanks for your feedback . I have installed a 90 days trial pack of Visual studio 2012 ultimate. Hereafter what i have to do for installing .Net . which version i can chose and the steps please.

I'm guessing you mean the .NET Framework?

There is no need to install .NET framework in addition to Visual Studio, since it comes bundled with it and will install automatically. Framework 4.5 comes with VS 2012 and latter. In fact, Visual Studio itself is a .NET program, made with WPF.
Just be aware of VS 2013 yet, as it's still a beta and not an official release as of now.

Windows 8 also comes with the .NET Framework 4.5.
