Solved how to install windows 7 without dvd n without usb boot option?

Hi,
I'm using Toshiba satellite series laptop. I have windows 7 installed init. Now the problem is my cd/dvd writer is not reading DVD's . nd Also tried USB method but i dont have USB boot option..

Plz help me in installing a clean copy of win 7

You won't know if you can boot a USB stick until you write the Win7 DVD ISO image to the stick using Universal USB Installer then reboot and tap the Toshiba F12 one-time BIOS Boot Menu key, check under USB, Removable or HD's for the name of the flashstick to select it to boot.

If this fails, does Win7 start? If so you can copy the installer files to another partition then run Setup from Win7 desktop to overwrite itself.

In some cases you can boot the installer partition by marking it active then adding it to the Boot menu using EasyBCD. The older versions of Easy are still free: EasyBCD 2.0.2 - NeoSmart Technologies However with a bootable installer partition on the same HD you'll not get Drive Options to delete/create/format partitions as you do when you boot from DVD/stick, although you may need to do it this way to overwrite the C partition if running it from Win7 won't cooperate.

OP doesn't have a working OD.

Try uninstalling then reinstalling OD, cabling it directly or differently. Is it IDE or SATA? Master or slave? If so what is the jumper setting?

Clean the DVD drive, try another or replace it.

Yep I tried USB method using CMD....worked fine...u'r correct first i have copy those files n then..change boot settings priority to Kingson Datatraveller(from +HDD option ) Thank u very much

I have recovery disc with me dude.....but it is with windows vista..I want Windows 7..Thank you anyways soleved my problem


Is there any problem with my CD/DVD reader...........It only reads my Toshiba Recovery DVD...None other than that.... Is there any software solution ??

Try this (1):
Your CD drive or DVD drive is missing or is not recognized by Windows or other programs
Your CD or DVD drive can't read or write media
The CD drive or the DVD drive does not work as expected on a computer that you upgraded to Windows Vista

Try this(2):
1) Shut down PC.
2) Physically disconnect the CD/DVD Drive.
3) Reboot to Windows with NO DVD drive.
4) Shut down PC.
5) Physically reconnect the CD/DVD Drive.
6) Reboot to Windows with DVD drive.
7) Check Device status.

Extract ISO if that is what you have to your desktop. Then run setup.exe. Do a custom install or an update install which ever. You do not need a CD or USB.
