how to keep only one edition of os in install.wim for integrating

Hi, i read with interest so mcuh tutorials on dism and image x usage

Dism in windows 7 only has limited scope I think.
my query is, if my os has more than one edition, or image numbers,
i know that i can mount and integrate other updates.
but , can i only retain this image, and connected and related files.
in other words, by using mountrw , can we remove the other editions and only retain the one image and connected files that we integrated .
can this be done and if, what is the procedure
if we remove the other editions, will it work correctly, because we have one xml which gives details about the editions in xml format.
or is it enough, that we mount our image edition with integration and make a bootable one

Yes, you can remove editions. Easily done with wimlib

You are correct about limited DISM functionality in STANDARD W7 installs.
MS included all personal versions in the Iso, which provided an easy way to upgrade to higher versions, you chose the anytime upgrade option in control panel and only had to enter the higher product key.

It is NOT the case in Business versions ie Server etc, dism works.

please also say, if i could change the name of the image by using.
Hi, also please , say that all packages are only copied to the wim folder and all other folders are common to all editions. in other words, if i just mount and integrate required files in wim and then , that edition works as per the addition and there need be no change made in all the other installation files .

Should i install it. where is the exe , in the program please
if, it is also like dism, cmd prompt, then how to use this for this task.
if you give examples of , it may help me.
i saw some scripts in the program, when to use the script, please i am new to programming lanaguages

hi, torchwood, dism only works with limited syntax in dism.
eHi, torchwood, i tried export command, and i got alert that this has no support .
Only dism works up to mount and unmount , and commit.
ven check health to find what is the thing to be repaired is not worki

Why don't you get Win 10 Dism?
It works on win 7 and you can use some features that isn't available on Win 7 ver.

i am having some doubts clarify.

But let me know, that if i could just export the image index to file, wiihout mounting.will it work, or should i mount it and then only export it .
another doubt, i have downloaded not known language iso and it wasted hours of download
imoreover, on expanding wim in seven zip, i could see other versions also, evenhough, the size is fiting only one version.

Attached is Get_Dism10.zip
Expand to a folder and run the Get_Dism10.cmd
It will download Dism 10 (32 and 64Bits)

You could export one edition. Quicker to delete the editions you don't want

Hi, siw, how to do that to delete . Normally , install.wim shows these details.
please give me cllues of how to delete unwanted images from the total images and how to save it to work.
do i need any specific software
Moreover, if i have only image, but other programs show , that it has more than one , what is the fix
