How to Load a driver fr a cd-r

I'm new to windows 7. I use a linksys wusb version2.6. I have the driver burnt to a cd. I need a detailed walkthrough on how to load a driver file from a cd-r

The same way you always would. Insert the disk, browse to the file you want to install and double click on it. About the only thing different would be right clicking on it first and selecting "run as administrator" from the context menu before running it.

Not all driver files are executable, some are just inf and sys files. In that case you go to device manager, select the device, select update driver and use the "Browse my computer for driver software" option. I've done it this way anyway to avoid installing software bundled with the driver. D-Link wireless cards for instance. I'd rather manage my wireless network though Windows, not the D-Link wireless configuration app that installs with the driver if you run the setup file.

You didn't tell us anything about the disc, but if the drivers are already extracted on the disc, then follow the same procedure you normally would for manually installing drivers, and when prompted, point to the folder on the disc with the drivers and let Windows find them.
