What happens if you uncheck the option that tells yahoo to keep you signed in & then just close you browser when finished?

I understand.

The method that I outlined will do what you want in one click.

If you will uncheck the option that tells yahoo to keep you signed in...
...then closing the browser will log you out.

Please test that and let me know if it works for you like it does for me.

Have you thought of using a different browser than them? Say they are using firefox and IE, install chrome and use it instead. then as long as they don't use chrome, you won't have to log-in log-out all the time

(I do this with my wife)

For privacy, a separate user account might be best.

I find this odd:
starting with IE9 clear of cookies and temp files
visit this URL: http://us.mc598.mail.yahoo.com/mc/launch
(which happens to be for the classic interface)
the option to stay signed in will be unchecked

log in
close browser
revisit this URL: http://us.mc598.mail.yahoo.com/mc/launch
the option to stay signed in will be checked

how annoying - users have to remember to uncheck that option each time if a cookie is set
...or use a different user profile.
