How to make a folder shared between two connected computers

Hi guys,

I have two computers nearby that are connected to each other. Each one is accessible through its IP using the ping command on the another one. Now I want to create a folder inside one to be accessible from another one. What are the steps please?

You could use a HomeGroup or Map a Network Drive.

Thanks. I used Map Network Drive and have the shared drive (Z) as the screenshot below. I also put some data on that drive. Now how to access this data from another computer? It was this that the main goal was.

Hint: Both computers are connected to a ADSL modem accessing Internet. They are not directly connected (say, via an Ethernet cable). But since they are connected to that modem, each one can be accessible by Ping command.

Did you add a Mapped Network Drive from the "another computer" where you are trying to access data from the shared drive on a different computer ?
Do you get any error messages ?
I use a Router, i never had a modem with 2 PC's connected directly, i don't know if that makes a difference.
I've been using a Homegroup since Win 7 was released, so i don't have any current experience with Mapped Network Drives.
