Solved How to make Outlook 2010 start with a specific PST?

Just rebuilt a mate's crashed W7 computer.

Managed to retrieve his Outlook 2010 pst file.

Installed Outlook on the new computer, but - and think this was where I went wrong - I 'imported' the retrieved pst without creating an email account, mainly because I didn't know his details at the time.

However, the pst transferred and opened.

But when I finally got his details and created the account, it downloaded his mail (previous 14 days) from the server, and put them into a new pst.

That one works OK, too, and the old pst doesn't get any of the new mail.

So far, so good.

However, when Outlook starts, it always opens the old pst, and he has to click on the new one, in the left frame, to work in the current account.

How can I make it open the new account on startup? As you can see, I don't use Outlook myself

EDIT: It wouldn't be as simple as dragging one above the other in the left frame, would it? The upper account is the old one...

Open Control Panel, Click on Mail (Microsoft Outlook) & then select Email Accounts, when that opens you should see list of Email Accounts. One should be the new one & one should be the old one. Make the new one the Default email account & you could remove the old one if you want to.

You can also get into where outlook stores those .pst files by selecting Data Files from the same Control Panel Mail icon as mentioned above. When that opens it will have a heading saying Open File Location.

For future reference, you don't need to import a PST file in Outlook - all you need to do is open it:
File / Open / Outlook Data File

Yeah, it's good now, cheers for the help.
In the finish, I used a Diane Poremsky tip - Choose the Folder Outlook Starts Up In - and it did the job.
