How to manage mangled partitions?

Given below is a link to an image of my disk partitions. The unallocated disk space is not contiguous. SO when i try converting it into a partition Windows threatens me with converting the FS to a virtual one. How do I unmangle this mangled unallocated space?

Firstly you don't convert an unallocated space, you create a partition.
As there are no files on that part of the drive contiguous or not is not applicable.

If you go to the management console (right click copmuter icon and select manage) choose disk management from the left, click once on the unallocated space and select create partition.

I don't agree... he already has 4 partitions! And 4 is maximum! If you create another one, all partitions will be converted to dynamic disks and that's not what you want. dynamic disks are win7/vista only and it's purpose is:
-mirroring
-striping
-spanning
-raid

Install free copy of Free Partition Magic alternative, partition manager freeware, partition magic server, partition magic Windows 7 and free Partition Manager software for Windows 7/8/VISTA/XP/2000 and Windows Server 2003/2008/2000. and convert last partition to "extended partition". Next change the starting point of "extended partition" to the left so it also has the unused space in it. Now "extended partition" has 102GB unused space and next to it a logical partition 1363GB (drive D now).

Now boot in win7 and check if D is still D and accessible. Now create a partition in win7 as usually.

With your setup, you can use disk management to extend C into the unallocated space.

If you want a 5th volume, you need to use a 3rd party app. to make one of the partitions e.g. D into an extended partition first ( in Partition Wizard - rt click D select Modify>set as Logical. )

Yes I was assuming that as he had at least 3 primaries he would of course create a logical.
You know what, when you assume you are dangerously close to being wrong.

I should have included quote from MS "There can be four primary partitions. One of them can be an extended partition, which can contain any number of logical partitions"

i formatted one partition and merged unallocated to C:
