There must be a way to do this, but I sure can't find it. I'm connected to a wireless network and want to manually DISCONNECT from the wireless network, while leaving the wireless adapter active; i.e., I don't want to disable the adapter....just disconnect the network session. When I click open my network connection icon in the system tray, it shows I'm connected to wireless network "XYZ" - I would think I would be able to right-click or click open the "XYZ" network icon and see a "disconnect" button or something, but I can't do either. Right-clicking does nothing, and trying to click it open does nothing. If I click open "network and sharing" I again see the "XYZ" wireless network I'm connected to, but no option to disconnect. If I shut down the computer and boot back up, my adapter automatically reconnects to "XYZ".
I give up - how does one manually disconnect from a wireless network?
Thanks in advance.
