Hi there,

Just got a new nVidia GTX460. I've tried to installed it several times without any success. Here's the thing that puzzles me. Every time I unintsall the current video (intrel g33/31chipset )card Win 7 requires a restart, and after the computer reboots it installes the chipset again. Once the old card installs again on its own the new card cannot be insdtalled because it is in conflict.

I'm not really sure why you care. What's wrong with having the driver installed? Is it causing a problem?

You should be a little more clear about your problem, and what you're doing.

I'm trying to install a new graphics card- nVidia 460Gtx. Before installing this card i need to uninstall the previous one right?. Th problem is that there is no physical card to remove from the motherboard, still I need to uninstall this intel chipset form 'display adaptors' @ device manager or the new card will be in conflict with the previous one. I guess my question is how do I uninstall from device manager and then make sure that the computer doesnt installs it again on its own which is the problem I'm having.

No, you do not have to uninstall the previous one. The "previous" one is built-into the computer, and Windows supports multiple monitors simultaneously. You should be fine leaving the old one installed.

Worst case, you can check your BIOS for a setting that will disable the internal video port, but that really should not be necessary.

Have you tried disabling it in the BIOS or Device Manager?

Reboot to the bios, disable onboard video, shut down and install your card. Boot up, install the nvidia drivers... you should be good to go.

Your issue has nothing to do with chipset drivers, only knowing where to disable the current onboard video... so stop uninstalling essential chipset drivers. :)
