Not sure which sub-forum to post this; apologies.

I want to print this image, 1:1 precisely: http://cdn.arstechnica.net/wp-content/uploads/2014/09/iphone-scale.pdf

In Europe we use the A4 image size; and I guess the original was formatted to US paper size (different). I am not a printing expert; do I need any sizing or adjustments?

To add insult to injury I even do not own a printer; I have to bring this thing to a print shop and possibly instruct them accordingly. By the law of large numbers, the print shop will likely use Windows; the 7th.

The print shop should have no problem adjusting the print size on there equipment.
The adjustment are not made with Windows 7 they are made with the printer program that came with the printers they use.

Thanks; Can you tell me what it entails if I were to print it at home? I used to have a very simple USB plug and play printer.

Maybe is it worth to convert the .pdf from US paper size to A4 myself? Maybe the print shop worker is not an expert.

I have never had to do the conversion that your are wanting.
Each printer program has it's own programs but some where in that program their should be a way of selecting size, borders and many other things.

Many time you can copy/paste something to something like a word processor program or NotePad/WordPad and change things how you want them and then print from there.

If you draw something and want to print it just scan it and send to a program in your computer. Change it to suite you and then print.

Their are so many option I just gave a few basic options.

I don't know what a (A-4) is but I'm sure if has a dimension it can be copied to that dimension.

There are programs like Paint and many 3rd part programs you can use to change the size of just about anything and print.

I am sorry I don't quite understand what do you want to suggest; except as far as I can recall you seem like giving some general vague ideas to my exact question.

But thanks; nonetheless.

I'd look in a program at Page Setup and assure your A4 size is set. The difference in sheet sizes may cause some clipping at one edge or maybe it will scale to fit. This chart compares the A4 versus the Letter size of the US:
A4 Paper Size in Inches (in) | A4 Paper Size
But I'd sure give it a try, may not see much of a noticeable difference.

What I was trying to point out is every program you print form can be different.
Any printer you have or in your case will get will have a program that you can select any size you care to print.

I or nobody else can tell you the exact program settings for a printer you don't even have.
Therefor I gave general information.

From your post # 1.

To add insult to injury I even do not own a printer;

If you use a print shop and have to explain to them how to use their equipment your in the wrong print shop.
Tell them the results you want and they should be able to do that. If not again you are in the wrong shop.

Have a nice day.
