Hello,
i have decided to put my external HHD into my Desktop,
because i have 4 WD externals, but the lack of Sata ports
i bought PCI Express ( HighPoint RocketRAID 640 ), connected
it, installed the driver & everything, but when i looked for my HHD
in My Computer & Device Manager i didn't find them!
Please tell me how to make a RAID between the two to show up
in My Computer as one 6 Tera HHD as it was in the external unit?
PS: i tried to but them back to the external unit,
but that also didn't work! this is the device manager:-

Last I understood HDDs had to be identical to be put in RAID.

What do you mean by identical?
& they are, because both of them was inside the same External unit.

you meant the capacity,
actually they are! but i don't know how it shows that they aren't?
i am sure because they used to be in RAID in their external unit.

How to link them & make them appear as one disk?

one more thing: is my data recoverable or not?
it's O.K. if i have to put them back inside their external unit.

I know very little about RAID as I have never used it.

If you have data, you had better put it back as it was or the data may be un-recoverable.

You need to read the documentation that came with the card. Although these cards are RAID capable, that does not mean to say that they are setup for RAID mode by default, and this might need enabling. In addition, the disks need to be connected to the correct ports (in other words, the disk that was connected to port #0 in the enclosure needs connecting to port #0 on the card etc.). As well as that, the same RAID operating mode as was used in the enclosure (0, 1, 01, 10) needs to be enabled on the card.

O.K., so before i do anything to these harddisk, i want to recover my data,
so i have to but them back to their external unit to recover the data,
but even after that the harddisk appear as unallocated!
