Hi All, is there a way to re-map the way Windows 7 interprets the buttons on a joystick/gamepad? Meaning if in the "Game Controllers" settings in Control Panel button "A" shows up as button "1", is there a way to change it so that it shows up as button "2". I believe XP had this option. See link below.

Have you tried using the xbox accessories app? It works flawlessly on my Win10 machine and does support 7 also.

Connect Xbox Wireless Controller to Windows PC | Xbox One Accessories

And here's a step by step walk through, from Microsoft itself:

Set Up an Xbox 360 Controller for Windows | Xbox Live

It also works with just about any controller as long as its compatible with Windows/Xbox.

Hope this helped.

I checked out the app but it seems it is only compatible with Windows 10. I tried it from this link:
