How to reboot via RDP?

I have a Windows 7 Pro machine that I RDP into. There are times when I want to reboot the machine, but there is not reboot option or shutdown option, only disconnect and log off.

Is there a way to add the reboot and shutdown options in with log off and disconnect?

Open a Cmd prompt type shutdown /i for options or shutdown /r to reboot. Is someone logged in to the pc that would stop the option showing

As you noted, the start menu is broken when using remote desktop, as it doesn't displays all the shutdown options.

An option is of course to install a replacement start menu that contains the whole options available, but I think that's overkill just for this (but to consider if you don't like the start menu very much).

A simple way is to just click on the desktop and press alt + F4. This displays the full shut down dialog, with all the options listed there, including reboot, shut down, logoff and disconnect.

Of course, as Samuria told, command line is another option.

If you use TeamViewer which is free for private use it allows you to set-up remote access and have full control of remote Re-booting, as well as IMO a better granular control of the sessions

I just tried the alt+ F4 and it worked great. I also tried the command line option as well. Now I know how to do it both way's.
