Hi guys. I recently lost all the data on my hdd. I was hoping to use a file recovery software to get my files back. Could you please tell me what software I could use that will get me my files in the folder structure that it was once before? Thanks.

How did you lose your data?

Accidental deletion? Partition failure?

Generally--if you lost the partitions and didn't actually delete the files, I'd try something like Partition Wizard and attempt to recover the entire partition--your files may just be sitting there as usual.

On the other hand, if the files were deleted, you can try something like Recuva.

I'm positive I lost my files from a virus attack. My user folder is gone. Deleted. HDD also says 277gb free of 277gb. When you navigate to Users, from Local Disk C: (Local Disk C:>Users) My user is nowhere to be seen. I only see Administrator, Public and Default. Will Partition recovery do the trick?

I assume your data was on C and that the C partition remains perfectly usable, other than the loss of data?

I'd let others comment, but my guess would be that a file recovery program would be best--as opposed to a partition recovery program. I don't think Partition Wizard has file recovery capabilities, but I stand to be corrected.

Do you have any reason to believe you are now virus and infection free?
