how to redeem voucher

Hi, this might sound like a stupid question, but how exactly am I supposed to redeem the Windows 7 voucher for the download? I can't find an option to do this anywhere on the MS website.

Hello Joey,

Before anyone can give any advice on this we would need to know a little basic information.

Which voucher are we talking about here - there are several voucher schemes in operation and the redemption proceedure will vary with the type.

If you can post back some more detail I'm sure someone will be able to help

If you have one of the actual vouchers with a code on it, you go to windows7upgradeoption.com.

If you have a free upgrade coming via a new computer, you need to apply at the manufacturer's website.

this sucks. I have the OEM software that came with the free coupon for upgrade to win7. I can't just get the download? I have to order the DVD? That sucks. I wanted this today!!!!!

I sussed this out.

I ordered a Vista plus free copy of Windows 7 some weeks ago from MS UK store, I went to redeem voucher today but couldn't find a way to do this.


I found that you have to enter credit card details when proceeding to purchase from store, you are asked for voucher code on very last page, just MS doesn't make this very clear.

I would have thought that Microsoft would have contacted you directly after your initial contact explaining the exact procedure for redemption, but I suppose they are a little busy at the moment :sarc:

I ordered mine in PC World store in July and paid for it (£49.99).
Going in this afternoon to collect it.

They didn't start shipping until Oct 22.

Yup... Mine says 10 to 15 days shipping!! I did the upgrade program too. Will never go through this hassle again tho. Figured ordering it and paying a month in advance would get me close to the 22nd. Guess not

I got an email that said it had shipped, but the tracking number doesn't work, and it still is over a week or two.

I walked into compusa.

Picked up the ultimate box walked to a register gave them cash and left. It took all of 2 minutes.

I even waited till the 23rd to get it to avoid any possibility of a wait.

And now I am starting m 7th install out of my 10 systems.
