Hi all,

My pc with W7 Ultimate does not have this freak program, probably I am always careful what NOT to install from Windowsupdate.
But my new Samsung laptop has it allright
So now I can't even make a link to msconfig on the desktop!

Anybody succeeding in removing or disabling this thing?
Full control is one of the reasons I never bought a MAC...

No need to warn me or tell me how wellmeaning or good the thing is: I don't want it!
I know how to handle W7 and keep full backups, so what could happen, right?

While I'm at it, I would like to do without all these warnings when I want to install something...

All help much appreciated!

TrustedInstaller is on every version of Windows since Vista, for you to have a version of Windows 7 without is impossible. And no you cannot remove it.

What I don't like is that Trusted Installer is locked. This is MY computer, not Microsoft's. If I want to be STUPID and disable Trusted Installer, then I should have the ability to do that as it is MY computer. FYI, 35+ years in the computer industry so I do know a thing or two about computers. :)

Honestly, all I want to do is to be able to rename, move, delete folders and files within some program folders but this Trusted Installer blocks me. I've tried adjusting the properties according to some forum posts and research I've done but nothing works. This is another example of some asinine Microsoft development team saying, "it's our computer and we're mad as hell that you want to change anything we've done to protect you!".

Is someone at MS really an Apple spy trying to get people to move to the Mac?

And yet you cannot handle adjusting NTFS permissions? So much for that 35+ years of experience.

Well, I managed to remove the effects of this damn thing altogether, by setting everything to EVERYONE.

I hate MS getting Apple attitudes.
