Solved how to return to default layout windows explorer

Probably a trivial problem, but somehow I seem to have managed to place the Desktop and Download folders within the Favorites folder in Windows Explorer, and I would like to get them out of there or, if that is not possibile, to return to the default order/organisation. Can someone help me here?
Many thanks,
Florio

Thanks Gary, but I think that if I do that I will delete the Download and Desktop folders completely. I just wanted to restore them to their former position, above (or below) the Favorites folder and not actually inside it.

if you click on the start orb and then Downloads, where does it take you? Removing them from Favorites will not delete the default location.

Thanks Gary, the problem now seems to be resolved. I clicked on restore favourite links (or whatever it's called in English; I have the Italian version of Windows 7).
