Hello roy,

Welcome to Seven Forums.

You cannot open that folder. It is not truly a folder. It is a junction point, or a shortcut to point legacy programs to the correct place to install files since documents and settings is no longer used. Messing with this folder could cause big problems. If you check 'hide protected operating system files' in folder options, you won't see these junction points anymore.

Hope this helps,

Gary

like in xp. can do this? may change the settings in windows? or change the registry?

Wondows 7 dosen't use "Document and settings" folder....

For your purposes try going to "C:\Users\Your Username"

Hope it will help you ;)

P.S. you will find your Application Data folder under: "C:\Users\Your Username\AppData"

As jav says, the files you are looking for are in AppData. The junction points do not contain any files for you to see. When you install an older program that wants to put data in 'Documents and Settings', it goes to this junction point which points it to the correct folder to install it's files.
