How to set different wallpapers on dual monitor setup?

That's what goofs up and is reset on each startup! Yet the regular plan options maintain the same changes when going into the advanced section for each to set the require password on wakeup and display to never there.

I'm thinking about simply selecting the high performance option and dumping the custom plan option until I have the retail version here since that's onlly 2 months away now.

The Pro version also does the cool fade in/out of multiple images like W7 can but can do it on dual monitors with 2 different images which no other wallpaper program I found could.

It goes on fast enough! The only problem with it changing randomly is one wallpaper will leave borders while the other one fills up the entire screen on the opposited monitor when you have a collection of papers at different screen sizes.

My power options remain the same after startup. Maybe something wrong with your system?

The problem with that is only the 64bit 7 is running into this. XP, Vista, and the 32bit RC all remember the power settings while two of those are no longer on here. And this is about the 6th or 7th installation of the 64bit RC on different drives as well suggesting a slight problem with the original dvd burned.

Eventually I'll be upgrading out of this case entirely which would automatically rule out any hardware problems once the newer boards supporting USB 3.0 become available. By then I'll be running the retail 7 and shouldn't be seeing any of this then.

I still use Wallpaper Master Pro, which I have been using since Windows 98 days, still works a charm and has a lot more options than other wallpaper changer software

That one may be good for a single display but where is the options with that for a second monitor?

I installed displayfusion but it just won''t run. will start up when windows starts but shows nothing but it is a running process

You first have to right click on the icon seen on the taskbar. Once the main screen opens you will see the two panels where clicking on highlights that and allows you to browse for a new wallpaper. You do the same with the second panel there.

The option is there for stretching out across both. That was something that almost made me wonder when first installing it as well until looking right away for any icon in the notification area there.

Another one I went for that also includes the ability to extend the taskbar across the second screen as well as see anything open with a second item cloned over to the second on the bar is called UltraMon. You can try out the latest beta version seen at Realtime Soft UltraMon

Once you click on the "download here" link at the bottom of the page you have to make you download either the 32bit or 64bit according to which one you are running.

Open MSPaint. (no need for .NET)
Resize the (blank) image to the size of your screens, an image large enough to cover all the monitors (with blank spaces between them too).
In the View tab zoom out so you see the whole image.
Open the image you want (preferably a larger or equal resolution one to your monitor) in a web browser. Right click and copy it.
Paste the image in paint and drag to the position you want.
Then open another image (for your other monitor) and copy & paste that too, then position.
Save the image and set is as the wallpaper with the "Tile"!!! option.

Tested on Windows 7 with a 1920x1200 + 1280x1024 monitor setup (left and right) and the right one is about 100px from the top of the big one. Image was 3200x1200.
It may be a problem if you have your primary monitor not in the top left corner, but still this is a solution to set different backgrounds for multiple monitors.

Same here! I prefer UltraMon over DisplayFusion while having both full versions. DisplayFusion requires that you drag a second window over to a second display while UltraMon provides a change screen button on any windows open.

You must not have tried the full version of Display Fusion: It also has the buttons you show for ultramon. AND it's half the price. I've used DF for years and it's the best out there and is constantly being updated with user requested features.

I have the full version here when buying both and definitely stick with UltraMon. DF has the drag window over to lock to other display method seen while UltraMon provides the move button on each window. The one thing they both have is the smart taskbar option.

Does UltraMon have taskbar on both screens? You only get that in the paid version of DisplayFusion. I would like to be free as I sometimes only need 1 monitor on for all widgets and Poppeeper while not viewing the monitor, saving electricty as well in the process

With UltraMon even with the shareware download you try out you will see the smartbar option available. Everything works for so many days when it expires. Then you either redownload and install all over or get into the paid version.

I went with the paid version of DF availble at the time and then went back to UltraMon since DF lacked any move buttons on anything. I found it a bit odd and no setting for this was found in the options but wanted to give both programs a try.

On another note, I noticed that the taskbar does not extend to the second monitor regardless of different monitor setup. Is there a way to make the taskbar appear on the extended monitor? Maybe another software for that?
