How to stop Win 7 from continually blocking e.g. commentary access.

I find Win 7 to be one of the most user-unfriendly systems EVER (and 8 is worse).

I will go to an internet site and be asked to click on something to activate this or that. Invariably, Win 7 immediately blocks the selection as if it were a pop-up ad, so that I'm unable to complete what the web site wants. I've looked for the pop-up blocker but cannot find it or how to turn it off.

Any ideas anyone?

Have you tried other Browsers ? ... What Extension do you use ? ...
