Hi,

I am looking for your help,

I have Microsoft Lifecam VX-5500 (WebCam)

I want to adjust this cam on my roof. The distance of my computer to roof is approximately 40 feet.

I have 40 feet long USB extension cable but it doesn't work because of USB power supply problem.
( I also know the usb support 16.5Feet long extension cable)
Can anybody help me out that how can i connect with my Cam which is fixed in my roof?

I wanna use this cam as a security cam.

Is that your actual cable or just a picture you found?

You need a repeater with an active cable to travel that length without any losses.

Seriously...you're going to mount that to the outside of your roof....you know it's not weather proof in any way.
