I have both Realtek HD Audio and THX and i am wondering what is the best way to use these two together. I would much rather use just one because i switch between my Logitech surround sound speakers and headphones (that i plug directly into the logitech speaker and not directly into my realtek audio device via the back of the computer) and so i am always having to switch settings around whenever i switch between just speakers or headphones
Does anyone have some experience with this or knows the best ways to use both of these audio managers or just one? Its rather annoying. Ive thought about just removing THX so i only have to deal with one, but it does seem to make a difference but it could also just be ignorance.
On a side note... i dont suppose there is anyway for realtek to recognize that i have inserted a headset into my speaker's headphone jack and adjust its settings.
also after updated my realtek driver, i can no longer get the audio manager icon to appear in my notification bar.
thanks a bunch in advance

According to the Dell downloads for the XPS M1530 laptop, you have SigmaTel sound and not RealTek. If you installed a RealTek driver I'm surprised it even installed since there is no RealTek hardware.
SigmaTel is now called "IDT", but the IDT drivers in most cases do not work on older SigmaTel sound devices. In fact in most cases non-Dell supplied sound drivers will either not work or not work correctly. I used to do a lot of support on the Dell users forums and that was a common issue with sound drivers.
Dell only has Vista drivers, but the Vista drivers will work OK in Windows 7.

Yes, I was going by what you had posted in the System Specs. I see you have updated the system specs but there are several different Aurora models so without the specific model I'm lost to confirm or link you to the correct Dell sound driver download and you need the Dell RealTek driver for proper operation.
I had THX with RealTek on my new homebuilt system (the motherboard vendor supplied it with the drivers) but I didn't hear any difference and it was a trial version of THX so I uninstalled it.
The sound card, whatever sound card, can't detect when headphones are plugged into a location such as a headphone jack on a speaker system. I have a headphone jack on my PC speakers (Phillips 2.1 speaker system).
