Realtek HD Audio Very low Volume and Variable

Hi,

Having a bit of an issue configuring my Realtek Audio Drivers on my computer. Originally I had a setup using an external audio interface (Desktop Konnekt 6), but I recently split my system apart so I have to start using the onboard audio on this computer once again. Originally I had the entire system under a custom water loop, but I removed that and it was still working fine. The main issue arose when I did a fresh install of Windows 7 Pro for the new user onto the hard drive and could never get the sound working again properly.

The problem I'm having is that the sound in the speakers is extremely low volume and variable.

For the first issue - the sound output on the speakers is extremely low. I have tested the speakers (bose companion 3) using my cellphone and laptop as audio sources and they seem to have normal volume levels. The only way I'm able to hear anything from the computer is by increasing the volume up to 400% in a music player, maximizing the volume of my speakers and increasing the preamp on my equalizer to the max. This will allow me to hear something from the speakers, albeit extremely distorted with a LOT of noise.

For the second issue -on the Realtek control panel the back panel "front speaker jack" is always detecting something which correct because I have the speakers plugged into that jack, but the "front panel headphone jack" will cycle between detecting something or not when there is nothing plugged in. I have even removed the connection between the front panel and the Mobo and this problem continues to exist. When the "front panel headphone jack" is incorrectly activated, the sound from the speakers is reduced further by around 50% then cycling back to the original volume and I have a neverending slew of notifications on the taskbar about a new audio device detected or being unplugged.

Another 3rd issue which isn't that important is that when I do connect the front panel audio jacks to the Mobo, even using the 400% volume, max speaker volume, max preamp method I cannot get any sound from the "front panel headphone jack".

I'm using an ASUS Sabertooth X79 Mobo with a core i7 3930k processor, 16 GB of corsair dominator 1600 MHz RAM, ATI radeon 6950 graphics card and Intel 520 SSD. Running Windows 7 Pro 64bit and the latest R 2.71 drivers. I use Avast Free antivirus on this computer.

Oddly enough, I have tried bringing back my audio interface and that doesn't seem to work either... I was prepared to just buy myself a new interface and leave this one with this computer but it looks like that isn't a troubleshooting-free option either.

Thanks in advance.
