How we really designed the look and feel of Windows 7

An inaccurate quote has been floating around the Internet today about the design origins of Windows 7 and whether its look and feel was “borrowed” from Mac OS X.  Unfortunately this came from a Microsoft employee who was not involved in any aspect of designing Windows 7. I hate to say this about one of our own, but his comments were inaccurate and uninformed. Hmm... I have and use both OS X and Win 7 and to me the only "look and feel" they have in common is that they are both windowed GUIs. I like Win 7 substantially better than OS X so I'm glad it isn't more "Mac like".

+1 to Julie Larson-Green and her team Enjoying Windows 7 very much... But i cannot wait to see how WIndows "8" turns out and its even more advanced/cool looking GUI!
