I first stumbled across Vistax64 googling who knows what - asked a question (which I never got an answer to btw :sarc: ) started answering questions instead and haven't left since.

Coming across to here was a natural progression

I think i fall into the same group as most people. Had a problem with vista (lots of bsod to do with dodgy ati card/driver) so googled for an answer and registered with vistax64.com. Hung around cos i liked the people on there and then migrated over when sevenforums.com was created.

Honestly? I have no idea how I ended up here...although I did visit Vista Forums a few times. I'm guessing I ended up here right as the Win7 builds started leaking out...

Either way, I'm glad I ended up here. This is easily the best forum on the interwebs.

Yes, they are both run by the same people. John (z3r010) is the owner and webmaster on both sites, and is the main Administrator. The other Administrator, again on both sites, is Shawn (Brink). I, together with a few others, am a Moderator on both sites.

Ah I see.
I stumbled upon this forum when I was searching for some help with moving Win 7 to a different partition.


I remembered that the Vistax64 forums had a very similar skin, forum layout and feel. I had thought the owner of sevenforums.com had ripped vistax64.com's layout

I was looking for stuff for vista and I visited VistaX64.com. To tell the truth I was actually put off by the name (Because I was using X32bit Windows.) Then I found some useful information And signed up. Since then I have gained the Vista pro badge, Signed up to Windows 7 Forums,Chrome Forums and Windows 8 Forums.

I originally joined the Vista 64 Forums (now Vista Forums), and was elected to be a moderator. When the Seven Forums was started, my memberhip was carried over.

Although my time is not my own, and I haven't been very acive in either these last few months...

When I purchased Windows 7 Ultimate a year ago the first thing I did was perform a Google search of forums that pertain to windows 7. After bookmarking 3 or 4 and doing some comparison shopping so to speak it only took a couple of days to seal the deal with Windows Seven Forums as this is the only site with a massive tutorial section & relevant accurate solutions. After lurking for about 4 months I finally decided to register and have yet to lose interest as there is always something new to learn and as other members have alluded to, A friendly atmosphere.

Came here from a Google link, trying to puzzle out my broken Picture Locations issue (it's still broken but I posted a workaround). Love the place, friendly atmosphere, I really enjoy reading the threads where people manage to get their problems fixed.

GTA IV was giving me some issues, so I came here to try and get them sorted.

It's funny, because I look over a lot of posts I've made seeking advice since coming here in December 2009, so much of the stuff I learned is just second nature to me now. I've had an interest in PC's since I was like 15, I've learned bits and pieces over the years. However now approaching 22 I've learned more here in under a year than I had in all the years before. It's testament to how helpful the people on here are and how easy it is to learn if you have the right instruction.
