I don't think you would be happy with that CPU, check out the review here.

Intel Core 2 Quad Q8200 | Processors | Reviews | Custom PC

The Core 2 Quad Q8200 runs at 2.33GHz at stock frequency, which it achieves with a 333MHz front side bus (1,333MHz effective) and a multiplier of seven. Not only is this the slowest quad-core that Intel has released to date, the Q8200 also has the least Level 2 cache - just 4MB. The older Kentsfield architecture Q6600 CPU has a stock speed of 2.4GHz (the result of a 266MHz FSB and a 9x multiplier) and 8MB of Level 2 cache. At £146, the Q8200 costs notably more than the £120 Q6600.

Conclusion

There's almost no stopping the Q6600, especially as its price continues to drop. It's supremely overclockable - more so than cheap quad-core CPUs built on the 45nm Penryn architecture. At stock speeds, the Q8200 just about justifies its price, making it a good choice for a powerful media PC or everyday workhorse. However, if you're looking for raw overclocking potential, the Q6600 is still king of the cheap quad-core kingdom.

Best value is still the Q6600

Hmm, didn't know that lol. If it's as cheap as they say I might just go buy that right now and not overclock this C2D.

Yeah, I have the Q6600 as well, and it's a great overclocker, and an awesome all around chip. I would definitely recommend it over the chip you mentioned.

It is a great OCer for most people - I have one that absolutely refuses to OC above 3.21 GHz unless I bump the voltage into the red areas (>1.5V). Even then stability it a major problem.....

However, a 3.21 OC (33%) is nothing to sneeze at, especially since the RAM is running at 1000 MHz....

And I run this 24/7/365, and even all of my Win7 installs were with this OC enabled (most notable exception is 7057, which refused to install regardless of OC or not, so I never got that one installed).

That is a bummer, non G0 stepping :(

Get the G0 stepping chip from Newegg. It can OC to 3.8GHz at 1.5v on air cooling, just make sure you got a kick butt air cooler.

I hate to "bump" or whatever they call this but as Homer Simpson would say.....

DOOOHHH !!!!

I just finished a system build with the Q8200. I hope I will like it because it's going to be with me for a long time. Not a big OC'er but hope to get into it. I read a lot of good about it before I purchased it. I also got a promo deal for $140 so I hope it's not too bad. Wish I had gone with a 9000 series now. I guess you always wish you had a better CPU, card, case, HD, etc.

If anyone has anything to say about the Q8200.....please post it. I would love to hear it.
