Unfortunately this doesn't work for me on Win7 Ultimate (64 bit).

Note that for me the printer is connected to a network device. When I choose 'Have Disk' and point to the Vista drivers you linked to above, unzipped to a temp folder, I get the error message:

The folder you specified doesn't contain driver software for your device. Select a folder that contains your driver software and try again.

Any other ideas? @gleonard, did you get this working?

EDIT: I am a numpty. Nevermind me -- it's working now. Thanks very much for the information.

I have been struggling to install my HP Deskjet 1280 printer on Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit.

I phoned HP customer support - they couldn't have been less helpful!

Eventually I managed to install the driver for Vista Home Premium 64 bit. It seems to work OK.
